About Primary Moves

Primary moves provides dancers who have performed and choreographed professionally and want to pass their passion onto the next generation.

They are highly professional in their conduct and their classes are fast paced, fun and informative. At the end of every class the children will have worked physically (building stamina and dance technique) and creatively (making decisions on how to move their bodies to express their ideas).

Each dance teacher tailors their working day to the needs of the school. In a full day usually 6 classes can be taught (please see example day). Most schools use our teachers for PPA cover although a few will use the lessons as training for their teachers to observe and take notes.

Alexis Butterworth

Alexis started teaching at a young age at her local dance school in Lancashire. After completing her dance degree at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance she performed and toured with many dance companies as well as spending time in Paris as a dancer at Disneyland Resort Paris. During her performing career Alexis continued to teach dance to children and people of all ages passing on her love and passion for the art. Currently Alexis is the dance teacher at several Primary schools in Kensington and Chelsea where her work continues to win awards at Borough competitions. She has successfully launched dance in other schools and continues to support the artists and schools she works with. Alexis loves dance, loves teaching dance, believes that dance is for all and anyone can do it. She looks for the same passion in her teachers and feels very lucky to have such a fulfilling job.
